I choose a creamy color for the front of this building.
I then started painting the base colors for the rest of the parts, Light brown for the window frames, an off-yellow for the skirting.
In this set i have chosen to not cut out every window and paint a few of them, this helps break a repetitive cycle and adds some more color into the composition.
The painted windows.
For the rocks i simply painted a drybrush of grey onto them.
I asked sarah what is a good name for a pub and one of the answers was the Hair of the dog and so that was the one i choose.
I used an old Christmas light and painted the top and bottom black leaving the clear-yellow middle showing. Now i have an effective looking outside light for the bar.
I am unsure of the painted symbol of the dog and may change this at a later point.
The grey wall was another piece i worked on today.
Starting a new section at the moment. The colors with these houses are very similar but each have a distinctive style to them. Here the Tudor style is mixed with a heavy medieval arch.
A close up of the painted doors, these will be further developed tomorrow.
Fine wire-work embellishes the archway.
I am thinking of using some of these roof tiles to hang over the edge of the buildings, i feel that this will help the work feel more complete than without them.
The curtains are made from a plastic bag with a stripey design. The rail is simply an old bit of wire.
The windows are cut (see above) ready to be placed into the wall.(see below)
