Personal Project; Entry for the 5/09/2015

The Alleyway Set
House Painting time.

The Alleyway set with my 3D print of the shadow beast.

Using my pavers to create an edging around the square. I was going to do the whole thing in cobblestones but feel that this is going to take more than the time ive allotted to finish the set.

I Have used the rectangle pavers to compliment the w shaped ones. Ive used a thin layer of PVA to stick the cobblestones down to the mdf

How its looking so far.  I used a muddy brush to go underneath the lighter beam creating a trail of dirtiness down the wall.  I will have to muddy the bottom of the walls up a little as well, this will help base the walls and make them appear more as though they are built into the ground.
.
I will be painting the houses a variety of colours.  The glass windows and curtains have been made but i need the paint to dry before attaching them to the houses.

Close up of some of the detail of the paintwork in the houses.
The sneaky little TV dish i snuck in..

a quick test with some model roofing tiles, i may yet use these, but dont feel like they work that well here.  I usually have to visualise it in my head and see the work before i allow myself to just go for it.

my first piece of wall section painted up.

i used quite a bright orange, brown  colour as the base before going over this while it was still wet with a yellow to hint at lighter bricks or textures within the piece.

Just need to add some weathering to these pieces before they will be ready.

Darkness test
 whoops had the flash on.

I used a torch that i had to give the warmer tones to the work and some small leds (white) to give the colder feel to the work but naturally this scene will look better properly lighted.

this is close to the opening shot in my animation. Where Henry lands and dusts himself off.

the fountain, undercoated and ready for painting.

Just another close up showing detail of the brickwork in the steps.

I chopped out the rest of the windows in my set and repainted theinside of these ready for the windos to go in.

the bridge that spans between the two sides of the alley. I haven't done this part as of yet as i am unsure of how to proceed.

I think that the colours that i have chosen will be good as when they are lit properly they will show all the small detail that i have been putting into the works; at a least i hope so.
