Vue work for environments= helping chris

Chris asked me to give him a hand with a desert scene and i was like sure. Just let me know what you want.
 a desert sure....

 how about some trees?  ok.

hmmm maybe less tress, and pockmarked ground. like an area for a crash site. but subtle.

some other type of trees too....

 maybe further away....

 wait not that far...
  oi you stop......!!!!!
 ahh thats better.
 hmmm, still too many trees.

Maybe look at location scout photos and go for something like that. ok yes sir....

 and.....
yes thats it. but it didnt get used anyway. hahahaha.

so here are a couple of other random things i did. a cave scene, digitally painted and crafted by yours truly, and a real basic desert scene with setting sun.

title ideas for group project

Never Dawn was an idea that came to me because i thought of what happened to Sarah last year and she hardly got any sleep and worked very late. I thought it was fitting.

some name ideas that i had come up with for our group project.  I think that i will use the stubborn goat design within the red letters for my own work or work that Sarah and i do together as we both liked it and it resembled our nature.

What i did on the beast of fawkes

I made a couple of really basic how to guides for those that were working in the tin shed so i could get on with my own stuff and not explain to them how to do something every 5 min, and this failed miserably. Oh well.

A small diorama concept that i made from fimo and painted back when there was water at the drop of thai through the cave roof.
the arm guards for Krai were made out of either sarah or my old soccer shin guards, hot glued over and metal and fabric attached and then painted.

the different parts were flexible and allowed the wearer to move around comfortably.

the start of me making the gps tracker for thai, i pulled apart an old tv remote and reattached using glue and bulked it out with balsa wood.

the glove and gps arm guard all painted ready for drybrushing, a technique that uses minimal paint to apply highlights to an object which brings out the detail.  The metal parts of this armor were hand cut and beaten with a rounded hammer to give the appearance of beaten metal.

the round silver casing for this was lost on the second day of shooting.

the original tracker for Mia that Krai held. unfortunately this broke (was fixable) but not being told till the day before re-shoot wasn't very good.

the inside of this device was made out of foam old computer parts and chips from the tv remote.
the horns for both Lynch and Krai's outfits were made from bendy black tubing (the ones used tying up computer cords) and hot glued over to create a rippled antler look. an effect that i used in my first year of sculpture. seeing them on the helmet and all together was very rewarding as we had mostly been trying the costume out on each other and with a guy over 6 feet tall some of our measurements and guesses were a bit off.

the second part of my instructions that went unheaded.

Flash animations Week9-17

Week9

Bird animation.  I chose to also animate the background to enhance the scene.

I then played around and added a stick figure getting shot by a plane, but i forgot to take out the bird luckily the plane misses it..... just.

Hand drawn bouncing ball animation
We then used a shape to draw the ball, remembering to stretch and squash the ball shape as it hit the ground and sprung off it.

Concepts for group project

Here are a few more concepts that I have been working on lately.

Figure1: Crash site on location
Some quick concepts using shots from the location out of Sandy Point.  This was taken from a nsdy hill above the crash site.
Figure2: Crash site2
Another concept using a photo from the location.

Figure3: Turning point in Concepts design
This photobash was the turning point regarding the concepts of Thai. Mia was made younger but is still to old.
Figure4: Mia turnaround
mia turnaround pose.
Figure5:Mia poses
I originally thought of Mia as being a more older character and quite rebellious and headstrong.
Figure6: The Norfolk
just mucking around with Allen's beast that he created to get a sense of scale in the location that we filmed in.
Figure7: Spaceship interior
"i love you, don't leave me!" Mia calls out as Thai presses the button to her pod.
Figure8: Thai pose
an early pose for thai forlorn after pressing the button. Here he holds a momento of hers, a orange yoyo; this got changed to a teddy bear and then to a gps so he could find her in the strange land that he crashlands in.
Figure9: Thai and Mia
relationship between thai and mia. armour and clothing is similar and are designed to be casual to be generic to any cast actors.
Figure10: Thai pose

Figure11: Thai t-pose
thai turn around pose, i had to remove the hair as we didnt know who we were casting at this point.
