I made a couple of really basic how to guides for those that were working in the tin shed so i could get on with my own stuff and not explain to them how to do something every 5 min, and this failed miserably. Oh well.
A small diorama concept that i made from fimo and painted back when there was water at the drop of thai through the cave roof.
the arm guards for Krai were made out of either sarah or my old soccer shin guards, hot glued over and metal and fabric attached and then painted.
the different parts were flexible and allowed the wearer to move around comfortably.
the start of me making the gps tracker for thai, i pulled apart an old tv remote and reattached using glue and bulked it out with balsa wood.
the glove and gps arm guard all painted ready for drybrushing, a technique that uses minimal paint to apply highlights to an object which brings out the detail. The metal parts of this armor were hand cut and beaten with a rounded hammer to give the appearance of beaten metal.
the round silver casing for this was lost on the second day of shooting.
the original tracker for Mia that Krai held. unfortunately this broke (was fixable) but not being told till the day before re-shoot wasn't very good.
the inside of this device was made out of foam old computer parts and chips from the tv remote.
the horns for both Lynch and Krai's outfits were made from bendy black tubing (the ones used tying up computer cords) and hot glued over to create a rippled antler look. an effect that i used in my first year of sculpture. seeing them on the helmet and all together was very rewarding as we had mostly been trying the costume out on each other and with a guy over 6 feet tall some of our measurements and guesses were a bit off.
the second part of my instructions that went unheaded.
