Lord of the Rings Strategy Battle Games in Middle Earth
Years ago when i was thirteen or so sometime after the first Lord of The Rings movie was released I started collecting the Strategy battle games figurines. These little 28mm models took you through an easy step by step process of assembling your figures (metal and resin) and painting them. It also had instructions on making dioramas and scenes for the figures which i found very useful and even used some of the skills in my Bachelor degree.
Over the years I "outgrew" them and gave quite a few to my nephews and sold some more; keeping only a handful left. A big regret now as they are worth quite a bit of money. Over the last year i have restarted collecting them and now have amassed quite a nice number of models.
I'm intending on building mainly a large Rohan army with Galadhriem elves (yes even though they're not in the book) on the good side and on the evil team Sarumans' army with dunlendings, wild men and the fearsome Uruk Hai. My goal is to create a fully painted helms deep scenario to use as a model and stage scenarios for playing the battle game on.
Anyway so I'm fixing and repainting some of the armies I have as I brought a lot of them second hand and fixed their broken shields, swords pikes and even replaced their heads on a few.
I thought as I'm working with a new lot of paints called scale 75 that id start from the very beginning and paint the models in the same order that the books came out.
Book 1
Moria Goblins.
