Pinnacles project part2
The undercoats have all been done and now i will transfer the design onto the prepared wood with saral paper.
It took a little bit longer to undercoat as the paint was more watery than I thought. So I have been doing alternate coats of white and gesso with a light sanding in between each coat.
The work is a challenge for me because the board is a lot more square than I'd consider a landscape to be, this simply means that trying to visualize the perspective and get it right makes it that much harder. But i believe I'm up for the challenge. I used a found photograph of the area and using Photoshop split the photo into nine. Each square roughly represents an A4 piece of paper so that transferring makes it easier. Labeling these is also a help. This means that i can move the design up if i want to add more foreground or down to add more sky. I layed these down on the prepped board and using saral paper under the transfer paper drew down leaving the image onto the board.
Really hard to see but transferred the design by using tracing paper.
Above: Laying it on the board so i can see if i need to move the design up or down to add or decrease the level of foreground and sky.
Below: Splitting the photo up into roughly nine A4 pieces will make it easier when transferring and painting the design.

Overdrew the design with a pencil so I could clearly see the image. I will most likely have to transfer the image again after each layer of sky is painted. I am now up to the painting stage so I will set up my go pro and record the painting process.
