Consuming fire Swords and stuff

Swords for breammalas troops

A really rough overpaint of dark elf concept. Was a screenshot so quality very low, more just trying to get a feel for the character.

Another dagger concept, just a basic one this time.

Consuming Fire= Caltar Weapons

Claymore of Aonghas Campbell

Aonghas Campbell  is a minor lord of the Caltari realm. His father is the steward of Redmont and Aonghas has been disinherited as its lord. He has taken to selling and buying slaves to make his way in the world. Before leaving his fathers keep he stole the family sword a great two handed claymore, used by his grandfather to fight in the long ago drakon wars that ravaged most of the known world.

The Claymore.

First attempt at making the claymore, I used a image from the internet as reference. Wasn't very satisfied with the cross guard so I had another go.

High poly and low poly versions of the claymore.

Maya kept crashing when i was trying to texture the claymore so i just slapped a couple of dirty blinns on instead for now.

Knights shield

Battered shield from the Caltar realm. This shield is mainly used by the noble knights of the realm, the cavalry use round bucklers which are easier to use on horseback. This shield is heavy and costs a lot of money.

Bucklers

Just some quick buckler concepts. Bucklers are very small in comparrison to the larger knights shield and provide less cover in a battle but are easier to maneuver and are much lighter in weight.

Low poly versions of both the bucklers. The one on the right is full metal, the one on the left is wood reinforced by steel rivets and boss.

New character. Aonghas Campbell.

 Full body low poly count.

Now got to get started on making his clothes and boots. Will eventually texture him and add his goatee and hair.

Along with his fathers heirloom sword Aonghas Campbell has a buckler and a dirk in his boot. The great two handed sword does require two hands to properly wield but wanted to show off both of his weapons.

Lochaber axes

quick low poly snapshot of my lochaber axe.

Size of lochaber axe compared to a standing figure.
Lochaber axe close up showing lozenge style cutout in blade.

Just some more snapshots of what I've created so far for Aonghas. working on his clothes at the moment. he has a kilt as most of the Caltar peoples and a leather tunic covering a mail top. He has knee high boots also made from leather as well as a cloak which can be used as extra warmth or a scarf to keep the biting winds out.

 Claymore textured

Some more shield designs

Consuming Fire- Dark Elves update

Dark Elves update

I wasn't happy with my original try at my dark elf warriors so i had another go. Still not entirely happy with the helmet but think i can live with it at this point.

Half coloured concept of Dark elf beserker. Dark elves are a 'bluish' color and have their home world and stars on tattooed on them.

Close up of beserkers face and helm.

Some new snapshots of dark elf beserker. Will be doing some more tweaking in regards to clothes and will texture the model as well.

Old concept of dark elf warrior. Same design as the beserker but with more armour like shoulder pads and mantle.

Original model of dark elf. Made the shoulder pads way to large and just wasn't functioning as well as i would have liked.

Still have to work on rest of armour and boots. I changed the helmet design slightly and made the shoulder pads smaller which work much better with the story and with the balance of the character.

consuming fire trilogy= green dragon concept

Green dragon concept

Green dragons are almost extinct and generally don’t eat meat except in a harsh winter. The arrival of the Abhainn hell hounds greatly impacted the green dragons numbers and now they are in decline. They are often called the protectors of the forest. Green dragons eat hanging mosses and lichens that grow in the deep forests. Green dragons have four horns on their heads which they use as much for defense as a mating ritual.Green dragons are curious creatures often chasing butterflies and small insects. They have short scraggly 'wings' which is used to help camouflage their body. Green dragons are a 'greeny' colour though they can change slightly to suit the winter months and become speckly white on their tops of their bodies. Most of the green dragons live in dense thick alpine forest areas of Bruenore and have also been found in Caltar. Green dragons are the size of a dog and run much the same as them.

Green dragons are most noted for their beak-like noses. Though they do have sharp teeth these are used for ripping the tough mosses and lichens that grow on the alpine trees. They have three toes on each foot and a long narrow tail which helps them balance as they rear up to eat the mosses..

Consuming fire update

Consuming fire update

Just a quick size comparison chart with silhouettes of some of the races in the Consuming Fire trilogy.

Black and white concept of Jessalyn after her mentor and friend Gareth Bryne is killed in front of her. she then proceeds to rip into the half company of Bruenmen; wasting them with her terrifying abilities of a skin changer.

Rough concept of joss and tul facing the attacking bruenmen as they are ambushed on the trail in the white stag ranges.

Rough maya concept of jessalyn. Will redo her tabard and shoes, cant have toes poking out!!!

Consuming fire- Redfell the Greedy

Painting.

Finially decided to get around to painting my miniature Redfell the greedy concept.

unpainted miniature created by me. I used a red make n bake clay. I super glued the wings into position, originally they were removable.

Painting the grass and rocks after the entire model was undercoated in black.

Have to redo this eye, slightly bumped the edges and is too black.
Painted some extra teeth onto the model as he looked weird with only four teeth.
