Pinnacles Project part 1

Pinnacles Project



I have been commissioned to paint/make a 3D work of original art that comes out of the wall much like I did for the Holdsworth bridge back in 2014. (see pics below)




PART 1:

Size of proposed project 60 x 74cm

I will be following much the same lines as the other work. Background first, then building out the foreground into the viewers space.

First I cut a 1200 x 600piece of MDF into the correct size.

  Sanded corners and edges, and gave the surface a quick buff to remove any unwanted lumps.

I used some gesso primer (which is just a fancy word for undercoat) to give it a nice surface to paint on. This will also help the paint stick to the surface of the MDF.



I will give the surface(once dry) a light sand and repeat on both sides until I have a smooth completely white surface to begin transferring the design onto the work.
